Dear Fan, Formula 1 heads to Montreal this weekend for the Canadian Grand Prix, which this year takes place in May for the very first time. It is also the third Sprint weekend of the season. The circuit, which since 1982 has been named after Ferrari driver Gilles Villeneuve, is to be found on the man-made island of Notre-Dame and is one of the most distinctive and popular venues on the calendar.

Laid out on the perimeter roads of the artificial island of Notre Dame, the 4.361 km Montreal track, usually delivers exciting racing. To go quickly here, drivers need to brush the walls and once in a while, someone takes it too far. That has led to the barrier on the outside of the final turn being nicknamed the “wall of champions,” as it claimed many champions who got it wrong.

The World Championship resumes with a Sprint weekend in Miami

Dear Fan, one month on from the previous round in Suzuka, the Formula 1 World Championship gets underway again with the Miami Grand Prix. After the cancellation of the rounds in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, Scuderia Ferrari HP will be back on track in Florida for the second Sprint weekend of the season and the first of three grands prix to be held in the United States. It will be an intense weekend for all teams, particularly on the technical front.
